  • Le Marchant St Thomas PTA – $20,000.00 for playground improvements;
  • Partners for Care / Common Roots Urban Farm – $6100  for tables, sitting area and water station
  • Inglis Street Elementary School PTA – $20,000.00 for playground improvements and a swing set
  • Climb NS – $17,500 for an outdoor gym
  • Halifax Cycling Coalition $14,250 – for eco counters and bike repair station
  • Downtown Halifax Business Commission with $16,150 for parkland upgrades.

2016/17

  • Common Link Association – $10,000.00 for connecting greenspaces in the downtown
  • Partners for Care / Common Roots Urban Farm – $3,500.00 for tags and signage
  • Gorsebrook Junior High H&S – $10,000.00 for exterior mural
  • Inglis Street Elementary School PTA – $10,000.00 to help fund an accessible playground
  • Brunswick Street United Church & the Halifax Music Coop $10,000 for washroom upgrade
  • Halifax Cycling Coalition $3,669.00 – for Seasonal On Street Bike Racks.
  • Partial funding was provided to Saint Mary’s Elementary School with $7664 for parkland upgrades.

2015/16

  • Le Marchant St Thomas for a playground at $20,000.00
  • OPEN Projects urban furniture on the Halifax Waterfront for $4,000.00
  • Speedy Kids Oval Program skate equipment for $5,000.00
  • Spring Garden Area bike racks and beautification for $20,000.00
  • Halifax Cycle Coalition picnic tables & bike racks for $15,695.00
  • Peter Green Hall Green space enhancements for $20,000.00
  • Park to Park for Gorsebrook benches and signage, $4,500.00
  • Partial funding of $4805.00 was also provided to Halifax Minor Baseball for dugouts at Conrose field.

2014/15

  • Shelter NS received $20,000 for a community garden
  • Halifax Music Co-op was successful in obtaining $36,462 for an exciting venue upgrade
  • Gorsebrook Junior High School Parent Teacher Association community garden project received $30,000
  • The Metro Non-Profit Housing Association received partial funding of $7,500 for basement upgrades at for the Morris House

2013/14

  • Downtown Halifax Business Commission for $20,000 for benches on Barrington
  • Veith House with $5000 for Veith House Explosion Memorial Garden Clean-Up
  • St Mary Elementary PTA with $30.000 for the Spencer Park St. Mary’s Active Living Initiative
  • Dalhousie Student Union for $3089.62 for bike repair stands
  • Halifax Regional Search and Rescue Team for $3000 towards a replacement vehicle
  • Spencer House Today Café with $5000 of the Back to the Garden Backyard Patio.
  • There was a four way tie and the remaining money was divided equally, $6250 each to the following proposals:
    • Independent Living Nova Scotia for MapAbility.ca;
    • Downtown Halifax Business Commission for Argyle Street Animation Project
    • Chebucto Community Net for the server upgrade
    • Spring Garden Area Business Association for Light up the Side Streets.
