CENTREPLAN UPDATE | Meeting May 2, May 3, May 5, and May 11
Thank you for your deep engagement in the March 21st Open House for the Centre Plan project. We had wonderful attendance (450+) and are excited for the next steps in developing the plan with you. The purpose of this email is to review what we have learned during that session.

What We Heard
You all gave us your time and your thoughts and the Open House has helped solidify our collective understanding of the Centre Plan. The attached “What We Heard” report captures the input we received at the Open House. Please let us know if you have any questions about it. We believe it is important that we follow up our events with summaries and share them widely.

In Response, May Workshops
We also will intend to create forums to discuss the local issues raised and will be hosting a series of Workshops in the first two weeks of May. These Workshops will allow attendees to identify their local knowledge and their ideas for the future by sharing how they affect (or are affected by) the themes of the Centre Plan.

WORKSHOP VENUES & DATES:

  • MONDAY, MAY 2 – DARTMOUTH NORTH COMMUNITY CENTRE @ 1-3PM AND AGAIN FROM 6-8PM
  • TUESDAY, MAY 3 – MICMAC ROWING CLUB@ 1-3PM AND AGAIN FROM 6-8PM
  • THURSDAY, MAY 5 – ST. MARY’S BOAT CLUB @ 1-3PM AND AGAIN FROM 6-8PM
  • WEDNESDAY, MAY 11 – HALIFAX FORUM @ 1-3PM AND AGAIN FROM 6-8PM

We are repeating the workshop twice at each location to capture those who may not be able to make it to evening or daytime events due to work, social, or family commitments.

The Rest of the Process
Many of you have requested our help with other types of Centre Plan engagement projects, and our team is working with you to make sure they are most effectively integrated into our work. Thank you for your energy and enthusiasm in these ventures.

We intend to share at the May workshops how other tools (such as Workbooks, and the Online Engagement Mapping Tool) are being rolled out through the Spring and how everything we’ve done to date leads into our Scenario Generation and the timeline for sharing those Scenarios in June.

Please do share this email and do contact us with any questions or clarifications, and as always – there is a wealth of information about the project at http://www.centreplan.ca.
