Chris and I met when we were fighting to stop the inappropriately large upzoning on Wellington Street. While we did not succeed that particular time, I’m so grateful we’ve been able to keep working to bring common sense to Halifax’ planning policy.
Through my work with Park to Park Community Association and as a resident of District 7 I have always found Waye to be accessible and willing to listen. Be it dealing with the larger issues around development and the Centre Plan or neighbourhood issues concerning the future of Gorsebrook Park, or the reimagining of our downtown streets he has communicated in an honest and forthright manner with his constituents.
His willingness to tackle the Province on the possible expansion of the HI site was particularly demonstrative of his political abilities and commitment to the district.
Waye is a progressive thinker and dedicated to improving life for residents of HRM as has been aptly demonstrated through many initiatives including his tireless dedication to keeping us informed during Covid. He has produced concrete results during his time in office and we are extremely lucky to have retained someone of his caliber for so long. I am happy to support him for re-election.
