Crane Removal – Government of Nova Scotia – October 7, 2019

Work continues on the site. Over the weekend, a heavy-lift crane arrived on site to aid in the removal. The crane will be used to lift the middle section of the tower off the building.

Two cranes will be used to facilitate this lift. As noted in last week’s update, the crane will be removed in stages, beginning with the front jib.

In the meantime, anchoring of the fallen crane is near completion. Once this work is done, dismantling of the crane and removal will begin.

Today, high winds added to the complexity of work at the site. Weather is an unpredictable factor as we continue our work.

We appreciate your patience. As always, safety of the public and of workers on site continues to drive all decisions.
